Vehicle report

What the full vehicle report shows

The full vehicle report creates a dated research record for one VIN. It combines the available factory build record with manufacturer vehicle data, then labels each result as reported, derived, estimated, or unavailable.

Read the report before you run one

The sample uses the same report layout delivered to customers. Its VIN sequence is masked and its source dates are fixed.

One report, named answers

Every report contains the same named sections. When a source does not return a usable value for a field, the report says so.

Supercharging Status

What the report shows

The Supercharging code returned for the VIN and an explanation of that code.

How to read it

Reported from the available manufacturer vehicle record. Confirm any entitlement that matters with Tesla and the seller.

Battery and State of Health

What the report shows

A battery state-of-health reading when the vehicle is eligible and a usable measurement is returned.

How to read it

Checked for Model Y, Model 3 from 2018, Model S from 2021, and Model X from 2022. Eligibility does not mean a usable reading will be returned.

Autopilot and Autonomy Hardware

What the report shows

The reported Autopilot computer and the capabilities associated with that hardware generation.

How to read it

Hardware capability does not establish that a paid software entitlement is owned or transferable.

Vehicle Details

What the report shows

VIN identity, model, build details, drivetrain, battery configuration, and available factory equipment.

How to read it

Factory build records do not establish that later physical or software changes are present.

Battery and drive unit warranty estimate

What the report shows

Published warranty terms and a time estimate based on the available build date.

How to read it

The estimate does not include mileage because the report has no odometer reading. Confirm current coverage with Tesla.

Available Option Code Build Sheet

What the report shows

The factory option codes available for the VIN, grouped and decoded into readable labels.

How to read it

Option records vary by production period and may not show later changes.

VIN Digit Breakdown

What the report shows

A position-by-position explanation of the VIN itself.

How to read it

VIN decoding describes encoded identity and build attributes, not the vehicle's present condition.

How evidence is labeled

Evidence type, source, and date answer different questions. The report keeps them separate.

Evidence

Reported
Returned by an available source for this VIN.
Derived
Calculated from reported fields or encoded vehicle data.
Estimated
An approximation based on the records available to the report.
Not available
The source did not return a usable value for that field.

Source

Factory build record
Information associated with the vehicle's original configuration.
Manufacturer vehicle record
Vehicle information returned by the manufacturer source used for the report.

Date

Generated
When this report document was created.
Captured
When a source record used by the report was retrieved.
Measured
When a returned measurement, such as battery state of health, was recorded.

What the report does not replace

The report is not a mechanical inspection, a title guarantee, or a promise that Tesla will preserve a feature or entitlement.

Every report reflects a point in time

Tesla policies, entitlements, vehicle data, and source availability can change without notice. Verify material details with Tesla and the seller before purchase.
