VIN Decoder

Enter any Tesla VIN to check SC01 eligibility based on build date. If the VIN is in our database we show the SC code on record. Otherwise we estimate the build date using production data, refined by every verified VIN in our database.

How It Works

1

Original SC Code

We check the VIN against our database. If it is on record you see the original SC code Tesla assigned when the car was first sold, plus the build date.

2

Know the Codes

SC01 is free and transferable. SC05 looks the same but reverts to pay per use when the car sells. Each code means something different, so know what you are looking at before you buy.

3

Verify With the Seller

Make sure to confirm the current SC code directly with the seller before purchasing. See sc01guide.com/verify

Original SC CodeThis is what the car was sold with, not necessarily what it has today.

The code below is the original SC code Tesla assigned when the car was first sold. SC codes can be removed or downgraded by Tesla at any time. You must confirm the current code with the seller or with Tesla directly before purchasing.

How to verify the current SC code
1.Ask the seller to log into their Tesla account and screenshot the supercharging tab.
2.Or call Tesla directly with the VIN and ask for the current SC code on the account.

Known VINs return the SC code on record from our database. Unknown VINs are estimated using production data refined by our growing collection of verified VINs. Verification guide →
